Tower Of Basel: The Shadowy History Of The Secr...

Now we have Tower of Basel by Adam Lebor, a clever title with a slightly overstated subtitle: The Shadowy History of the Secret Bank that Runs the World. This is a history of the Bank for International Settlements, an institution based in Basel, Switzerland. It is true: the BIS, even to many bankers, is shadowy, engaged in technical matters like payment systems and central banking coordination.

Behind those closed doors, and in the absence of accountability or transparency, the Bank for International Settlements--known by its acronym as the BIS--provides rich pickings for conspiracy theorists. One of the most common alleges that it is the piggy bank used by the Rothschilds to govern global finance. LeBor's publishers have done him no favours with the book's subtitle, which appears to fuel the conspiracy theory. Much of the BIS's history may have been shadowy, but the assertion that it runs the world is daft. 041b061a72
